Altera's DE0-NAN0 Development Board Arrived Two Days Ago!

DE0 Nano Development BoardOne of the Christmas presents, that I bought for myself, arrived today  the DE0-Nano Development and Education Board  manufactured by Terasic Technologies Inc.

I am currently building a cable to connect it the LQ043T3DX02 display driver board. It shouldn't be a difficult job, but rather a labour intensive one. However, cobbling a  cable together is probably quicker, and cheaper, than designing,  manufacturing and assembling a one-off daughter board to attach to the LQ043T3DX02 display driver board. An image of the DE0-Nao and the PSP display driver board can be seen below.

To introduce and review the board on this website the following articles are work-in-progress.

(1) The DEO Nano Development Board - An Introductory Review (link)

(2) Using the PLL on the DE0-Nano development board. (link here)

The DE0-Nano paves the way to extend the graphics driver on the article series "Using Microcontollers with the PSP Display"  to include using the Cyclone IV FPGA, watch out for more on this soon.

Finally, Happy New Year to everyone! To let the cat out of the bag there is a new LQ043T3DX02 driver board in development. As usually the design will be opensource subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commerical-Share-Alike 3.0 Unported License. However, we will be selling the board too, for those of you that just want to get on with it, at hobbyist prices! Watch this space!
